Project Description

The owner of this vintage condo in Chicago hired us to help him design and manage the construction of a new guest bathroom that was simple, elegant, and would coordinate with the rest of his home.

How We Helped

For this interior design project, we developed a floor plan, selected all of the fixtures (e.g. sink, toilet, shower head) and tile finishes. We also picked paint and selected lighting, artwork, and accessories.

On the construction side, we helped the home owner choose the best contractor for the job and assisted with the management of the construction project.

Project Highlights

  • We wanted to create a bathroom that felt at home with the rest of this vintage condo in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago.
  • We started with selecting a white hexagonal marble tile for the floor.
  • For the sink, a white ceramic with polished chrome and matching 8” widespread faucet from Kohler was chosen.
  • To add a bit of volume to the wall, we used an adjustable mirror with chrome frame that can be easily angled to fit your needs.
  • White wainscoting with a crisp 2.5” ledge adds a nice contrast to the darker paint color that covers the top half of the walls.
  • White subway tile surrounds the extra deep tub which has a polished chrome shower head and tub filler.
  • To add a pop of color, we went with an unconventional patterned shower curtain in blue and violet.
  • 4” recessed can lights and a 3-light fixture over the sink provide ample light for the bathroom. Lutron dimmers allow the homeowner to adjust the lighting to the perfect level.
