We have designed many dining rooms ranging from smaller dining rooms that seat 4 to formal master dining rooms that are used only at special occasions. Designing a great dining room for a home in Chicago is tricky since many dining rooms are tied to the living room and kitchen in one large open floor plan. If you are fortunate enough to own a single family home, many times they have dedicated yet smaller dining rooms. Feel free to browse through the photos from some of our past dining room projects from homes around Chicago. If you are ready to get started on your project, do not hesitate to contact us. How Do I Pick the Right Size Dining Table?
Picking the correct dining table can be tricky. Not only does it need to have the right look and feel for your home, but it also needs to fit your daily needs for eating and entertaining. Before you start shopping for a specific table, measure out your dining room and make sure you have at least 3′ or 36″ from the face of the table to the next obstruction (e.g. a wall). For instance, if you have a 13′ wide room, the table should around 7′ wide.
What is the Best Material Room for my Dining Table?
You should also take into consideration if you plan on using the table on a daily basis or for special events only. If you are going to use your table for all of your meals, you may want to select a material that is more resilient since it will see heavy use. Also, if you have kids pick a table that you are okay with getting scraped and nicked. If you are using the table for entertainment purposes only, then you can go with something with a more refined surface.
Picking out Dining Room Chairs
There is a large variety of dining room chairs that you can select. Some prefer to the same chair on the head and sides of the table. Others prefer a slightly different or dramatically different head chairs. The last option is more eclectic where none of the chairs match. Whatever option you choose, make sure to make it look intentional.
Selecting Paint Colors for the Dining Room

If you want bright and bold colors, use artwork and accessories to give the room that pop of color you are looking for.
