Blush is back! – but is just 1980’s mauve in disguise? Should we be expecting avocado green fridges on the next cover of Vogue Living? Here are 4 tips for decorating with pink and how to use the popular hue while keeping it modern.

Bursts of Blush

No need to swap out your pricey sofas for the color of the season. Blush is great with a backdrop of black, white, red, you name it! It, of course, complements the ever-popular gray sofa as well. Velvet is great for adding some fall coziness. Try combining a variety of textures in the similar blush tones to create a soft, feminine element to a living or bedroom.

Dine in Pink

Blush is a fabulous accent on your table as well. Don’t go out and buy blush plates though! Try out a black tablecloth against your classic white plates (Check out our blog post on black and white room décor). Use blush napkins or napkin rings and pair with some seasonal pink chrysanthemums to warm up your table for fall.

Bring the Indoors – Out!

Pull your new favorite color outdoors! Take the leap and paint your front door for a more permanent pop. Using the front door as a focal point has been around for years, but with a burst of pink, you’ll be the hit of the neighborhood. Renting? Break the mold of red and orange colored wreaths for fall and try out a blush-hued wreath instead.

Fabulous Furniture

Still hoping to make blush a permanent fixture in your home? Try out an accent chair, or, if you’re really feeling daring — a sofa. Rather than curvilinear lines, go for clean lines with your new furniture to keep your blush in the 21st century.
