A young Chicago couple needed help decorating their living room in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago. We helped them design a rustic modern living room that would provide them a place to entertain and show off their love of art.
Large Inspirational Elements
The customer wanted to build the living room space around their growing art collection and a large industrial pendant light. The large industrial pendant light grounds the space and provides a subtle overhead fixture for the space.
Clean and Modern Sofa
A modern high-back couch was paired with two vintage side chairs to provide ample seating for guests. The Asian inspired television cabinet hides away a 42″ HDTV TV and stereo equipment while a large wooden fish that the homeowner got while on vacation in the Bahamas overlooks the room.
Bold Accent Chair
We found this bold, red accent chair at an estate sale. Its unique style and bold color really helps offset the larger pieces of furniture in the space.
Accent Pillows
Accent pillows are always a great way to help pull additional colors and textures in the the living room. It’s the cherry on the cake.
Large Hallway Artwork
Since our customer loved bold and modern art, we sourced new pieces of artwork from artist Connie Noyes, Adam Thomas and Fancine Turk. These pieces make a grand entrance when guest enter the Chicago condo.
More Modern Artwork
Owner and Lead Designer, Bill Cherne created a large custom art installation using reclaimed wood from pallets.
Vintage Cabinets for Storage
An old filing cabinet was spray painted gold and provides a lot of storage for various office supplies like and other items like tape, string, glue, candles, etc.
Custom Window Seat
Along the northern wall of the living room, we designed a window bench which offered a cozy place to read a book and additional storage for this 1,000 square foot condo.
