After a year of working from home due to COVID, and having all their meals together, this family of four realized that their kitchen was simply too cramped, outdated and had an inefficient flow to the space.
Our clients reached out to us to help them design and remodel their kitchen to better serve their growing family and active lifestyle. The project required a full gut, and the results are astonishing!
Brighten Up the Kitchen
For this kitchen remodel, we converted the old island into a peninsula which better utilizes the limited space in this Chicago townhome.
Increase the Storage
The family that owned this townhome really needed some additional storage. To address this, we changed the kitchen layout that gave the room better flow while adding additional storage.
Let the Light In
It always amazes us how many new homes have inadequate kitchen lighting. To help address this issue, we added in additional overhead lighting, under-cabinet task lighting and some charming pendants that add light as well as visual interest to the space.
The Finishing Touches Matter
When you’re picking cabinet pulls to match your kitchen design, think of them like the jewelry for a dress. They are what will bring out that cute outfit and make it look great!
For this kitchen remodel, we went with a set of matte gold pulls with a really distinct shape.
Tile and Accessories
We wanted to create something different than the basic white subway tile you see in just about every kitchen on Instagram. For this kitchen, we selected a light yet patterned tile that was perfect for our backsplash installation.
We (and our Customer) Are Thrilled With the Final Results
Wrapping up a kitchen remodel is always an exciting day for us. Nothing beats seeing families enjoy the new space while hearing about how it has already made their lives better!
